Additives & Treatments

Due to dust in the atmosphere and wear and tear, after a while, the engines no longer run at the same capacity as at the beginning. Therefore, additives and engine treatments were created. Additives are small amounts of chemicals (alcohols, ethers) that are added to the fuel to improve the octane or cetane number and their performance (metal inhibitors), to reduce the friction inside the engine and to extend its life (detergents ). In some areas, for geographical reasons, seasonal chemical additives are used, such as the addition of methanol to prevent freezing of the fuel line. Chemical treatments are used to clean the interior of the engine and other components vital to its operation.
